The European Union wishes to participate in the settlement of the Georgian-Abkhazian mutual relations in the existing negotiation format more actively. The Supreme commissioner of the European Union on foreign policies and security Xavier Solana said about that after the meeting with the leadership of Abkhazia.
Solana hopes that even in a case of changing the negotiation format, all the participants of the peace process would develop the situation in the constructive way. «In any case we are ready to participate to move the peace process from the dead point. Our representatives have an office in Abkhazia, we are already here, and we are ready to cooperate», — the diplomat said.
