The capital administration head Alias Labakhua issued the order “About New Year decoration of the city”.
All enterprises and organizations heads (trade, consumer services, banks, communication etc.), regardless of their patterns of ownership should decorate festively the properties within their jurisdiction.
A contest for the best decoration was also announced. The contest will be held from December 14 till December 25. The contest criteria are:
-originality and culture of halls, facades, showcases, adjoining territories decoration taking into account New Year themes – 10 points;
-use of illuminated signs in outside decoration – 15 points;
-use of New Year symbols – 5 points;
-festive New Year congratulations in the Abkhazian and Russian languages – 10 points;
-sale of New Year souvenirs, gifts, Christmas-tree decorations – 5 points
The winner is defined by the quantity of points received.
The contest commission headed by the Sukhum administration deputy head Vadim Cherkezia will start work on December 20 and will sum up on December 26.
