In Karachaevo-Circassia the election campaign of mayor of the capital of republic – Cherkessk town – is officially suspended.
As they informed Caucasus Times correspondent in the Cherkessk municipal election committee, the municipal election commission intends to appeal against the verdict of the Supreme Court KCR in the Supreme Court of Russian Federation.
Note: according to verdict they recognized lawful and upheld the decision of the Cherkessk town court about cancelling of the date of mayor’s elections. Earlier it was supposed that the new charter of Cherkessk according to which the elections should take place, would be approved not later the end of February.
However the Ministry of Justice had seen some legal discrepancies in the positions of the charter and returned it for completion.
