The deputy minister of defense of Abkhazia Harry Kupalba assured about readiness of the armed forces of Abkhazia for new possible Georgian aggression. Answering questions of the journalists concerned the professional level of the state armed forces, deputy minister of defense declared: «Today we have a well equipped efficient army, capable to neutralize aggression».
As IА REGNUM correspondent reported, according to Kupalba, the basis of the military concept of the country is defense. «During the last Kodori incident we have taken a very reasonable position of neutrality, as we had all the reasons to believe that the Georgian party supposed us to get involved in that fight», — affirmed Kupalba.
He also noted that today the Abkhazian army got the new qualitative level. «The level of opportunities of the armed forces of Abkhazia today fundamentally differs that we had had in 1992 and even in 2000», — he summarized.
