«There are no any new plans, new judgment of the situation, as the government report frankly depressed», — so today, on October, 19th, the deputy from LDPR Alexey Mitrofanov commented on his impressions about the closed meeting in the State Duma of Russian Federation on the situation in Northern Caucasus. As IА REGNUM correspondent informed, the session passed in the closed mode, all the sounded information on it had the stamp «confidential».
The people who attacked the law enforcement bodies in Nalchik, expressed in that way their protest against activity of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Hachim Shogenov, considered Mirtofanov. «He holds the real levers of authority; Kanokov will not be the president while this minister heads the Ministry», — the member of the parliament stated.
In Mitrofanov’s opinion, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev, the general public prosecutor of Russian Federation Vladimir Ustinov, the deputy director of FSS Alexander Bragin, the plenipotentiary of the president of Russian Federation in the Southern federal district Dmitry Kozak and the vice-premier of Russian government Alexander Zhukov, invited to the session in the State Duma, «spoke about anything except the real reasons of this conflict». Mitrofanov believes that the federal center made a decision to keep Shogenov on his present post, «in order to show their power».
According to the deputy, several days before Arsen Kanokov’s election on the post of the president of Kabardino-Balkaria the Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic «began suppressing population, some clearings before the new heads’ arrival». «People simply changed clothes and went bombing “cops’ departments”, — declared Mitrofanov. As he said, the speaking at the session in the State Duma representatives of the law enforcement bodies hinted at insurgents ties «with the underground, Wahhabists, Islam, explaining the reasons of the attacks in Nalchik».
