On the Russian-Georgian border in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria a new small town for Russian frontier guards was constructed. As general-colonel Nikolay Lesinsky declared at the solemn opening of the military post, Peter Taran’s high-mountainous frontier post was constructed according to the best quality standards. There are all necessary conditions for long residing at mountains. In the garrison only contractors, basically recruited from among local residents, bear military service.
The chairman of KBR government Gennady Gubin welcomed the frontier guards on behalf of the whole republic, congratulated them on the beginning of their service on one of responsible sites of Russian frontier and offered his patronage above the frontier post.
Note: according to the federal program «Arrangement of the state boundaries in the SFD” in the near future 72 new frontier posts should be built. 6 of them they planned to construct in Kabardino-Balkaria. The border of Russia with Georgia in the territory of Kabardino-Balkaria makes 131 km, and it runs in the mountainous part of republic.
