Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: unauthorized activities of Abkhazian separatists occur in front of Russian peacemakers

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia protested against opening of Abkhazian block-post in » the safety zone» of Galsky area of Abkhazia occupied by Russian peace-making forces. As IА REGNUM correspondent informed, in the message widespread on November, 17th the Georgian foreign policy department declared that on November, 16th in Galsky area the government of Abkhazia had been illegally opened the block-post completed by armed group in 15-20 people.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia remarked: «the question of opening any additional post in the safety zone was not considered» during traditional weekly meetings (with participation of representatives of the government of Georgia, the Abkhazian party, the United Nations and «the blue helmets»).

«This fact specifies once again that in the safety zone controlled by the Russian peace-making contingent the Abkhazian separatist regime continues its autocratic actions, opens illegal block-posts, moves in armed groups and carries out retaliatory operations against the local Georgian population, — emphasized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, — All this occurs in front of the Russian peace-making contingent and with its assistance».

In that connection the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia had addressed to the Special representative of the Secretary general of the United Nations in Georgia and to the CIS peace-making forces commander and asked them » to have taken corresponding measures for suppression of illegal actions in the safety zone».
