Georgian party had given its consent for functioning of Abkhazian sector of Transe-Caucasian railways. That was stated at the meeting with the journalists on October, 11th by the Secretary of the National Security Council by the president of Armenia, the minister of defense Serge Sarkisian. As IA REGNUM reported, according to the minister at the moment Russian party is engaged in repairing works of the railways, «after which, by God’s blessing, the railways will start work».
We should note that some time ago during a meeting of the chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Artur Bagdasarian with the prime-minister of Georgia Zurab Nogaigdeli they mentioned that the problem of fuctioning of Abkhazian part of the railways still had some not solved questions solving of which a trilateral meeting with participation of Russia, Georgian and Armenian parties could help. At the same time Artur Bagdasarian stated that he was going to discuss the issue during one of forthcoming meetings of the Cacasian Four with the speakers of Russian and Georgian parliaments as functioning of the railways is the vital interest to Armenia.
