Within the framework of the celebrating 150th anniversary of Maykop the competition on creation of the project of the town flag is on in Adygeya capital. “Caucasian unit” correspondent informed that referring to the main expert of Management of culture of Maykop town administration Irina Varakuda. As she said, the decision on realization of the competition was made at the end of February; the competition will be stopped on March 25.
At the moment the competition jury has no competitive works, the main expert told, but they got constantly phone calls with request to explain conditions of the competition. According to the conditions of the competition, she also explained, the best competitive project will be appropriated with the premium of 5 thousand rubles.
In the jury of the competition, according to Irina Varakuda, except for herself, there are: the assistant of the head of the town administration Alexander Kovalenko, the chief of Management of culture of the town administration Nurbiy Achmiz, the chief of the municipal architecture department Oleg Beliaev, the director of the Maykop art school Vitaliy Ivaschenko, the director of the Centre of national culture of Adygeya Republic Amerbiy Kulov, the chairman of the Union of artists of Adygeya Edward Ovcharenko.
Let’s remind, the celebrating of 150th anniversary of Maykop is planned on July 2 of this year.
Let’s also remind, against that celebrating a number of Adygeyan public organizations, first of all the republican movement «Adyghe Khase» acted. So, at the past on February 22 session of the Council of the movement they declared that the organization would call Adygs of the republic to boycott that celebrating.
The reason of such attitude, named at the sitting of the council of the organization is: we should commemorate not the date of a fortress’ foundation by the imperial armies during the Russian-Caucasian war, but the date when a town walls were built there for the first time.
