In Sukhumi on March 21 the first session of the Commission on preparation for celebrating 15-th anniversary of the independence of Abkhazia was held, IА REGNUM correspondent reported. During the session the president of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh called the members of the commission to use their best efforts for implementation of the celebratory measures up to the mark, having stated that there would be many visitors to see them.
At the same time, according to Bagapsh, the celebratory measures should not turn into a continuous show. «All the measures should be address. We should reach each family, where are relatives lost in the war, veterans and invalids, orphans. We can not disregard families of the voluntaries, who had come to help the Abkhazian people during the war», — Bagapsh declared. The president charged to get in proper order the town streets, the stadium, the quay, Park of Glory, the burial places and tombs of the warriors, and also in the fortnight term to find in Sukhum a premise for the Museum of the Domestic war of the people of Abkhazia 1992 — 1993. Sergey Bagapsh mentioned that in the nearest time an official letter with the offer to the parliament to found an anniversary medal would be sent. Sergey Bagapsh recommended members of the commission to attract more actively in the preparation for the celebrating Independence Day businessmen.
The commission on preparation for celebrating 15-th anniversary of independence of Abkhazia was formed by the order of the president of Abkhazia; the prime minister Alexander Ankvab heads the commission.
