The portal “Religion and mass-media” (referring to the newspaper «Kabardino-Balkarian Pravda») had quoted the head of the department on affairs of nationalities, interaction with religious organizations, public associations and interaction with compatriots abroad of the Ministry of culture and information communications of KBR Arsen Karov who, speaking at the meeting of the republican Ministry of education and science, had resulted data on number of religious associations in the region:
» In Kabardino-Balkaria for September, 1st of this year 152 religious associations were registered. Including 105 Muslim, 19 Orthodox, 1 Judaic, 3 Catholic, 231 Protestant and 1 community of spiritual Christians molokans. There are some tens of not registered religious associations.
In the territory of the republic there are 142 mosques and adapted premises, 18 Orthodox churches and 1 monastery, one synagogue, 23 praying houses. Religious services and ceremonies are organized by 157 Muslim, 25 Orthodox, 2 Catholic, 1 rabbi and about 30 Protestant cult attendants».
