As lawyers of the legal expert center of Kabardino-Balkaria informed «Caucasian unit» correspondent, they were considering an opportunity of contest in court «The Russian Newspaper’s» article of 17.10.2005 with headline «One gets under bullets and others — in office». In the article the head of the center Valery Hatazhukov was described as one of ideologists and inspirers of the tragedy happened in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria Nalchik.
In his conversation with the correspondent the known authoritative lawyer Iskhak Kuchukov said: «Valery Hatazhukov is unique person who in the conditions of the authoritative mode existed in the republic at Valery Kokov’s presiding, had courage to state openly his criticism to the address of republican authorities. And authority, as we know, does not love such criticism. Consequently it does not love Hatazhukov. Everything what was written by journalists of «The Russian Newspaper» under submission of those, for whom he is like a cataract of the eye, follows from that. But there is also another explanation — someone diligently searches for a scapegoat.
Kuchukov also told that Hatazhukov went to mosque only when believers’ rights were broken. And he had been never judged by anybody as a man with anti-Russian mood. He also informed that now the legal expert center of Kabardino-Balkaria was preparing a refutation of the article and if the newspaper did not publish it, they kept the right to address to court with a claim for protection of honour, advantage and business reputation.
