The legal expert center «Memorial» considers discharge of general-lieutenant Minister of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria Hachim Shogenov as a step made certainly, in the correct direction.
Earlier «Memorial» had already declared that during «the struggle against extremism and terrorism» the power departments of the republic, first of all the Ministry of Internal Affairs, carried out reprisals against the broad audience of Moslems that only promoted escalation of violence.

«Memorial» expresses hope that new minister of Ministry of Internal Affairs of KBR Jury Tomchak can rule actions of the republican militia into the framework of legality.
