The Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia denied the information of Russian mass-media that in Sukhum as a result of thrashing 21-years-old inhabitant of Galsky area of Abkhazia Daniel Tsurtsumia drafted in the Abkhazian army died. As the Minister of Defense of Abkhazia Sultan Sosnaliev informed IА REGNUM correspondent, «no one of Georgians was drafted violently in the Abkhazian army, and tortured». » We haven’t such case. Besides this autumn from Galsky area nobody was drafted», — he noted. » Daniel Tsurtsumia was not among the called in the army. Representatives of all the nations and nationalities serve in the Abkhazian army, and any of them is not exposed to physical and moral discredit under national attribute», — the ministry employees emphasized.
At the same time, the Minister of Internal Affairs Otar Hetsia noted that Abkhazian law enforcement bodies detained 39-years Daniel Tsurtsumia during the operatively-search actions as involved in the bombardment of the house of the employee of the regional department of internal affairs Khvichi Djindjolia. We shall remind that the incident happened on October, 31st in Gagida village. At 3 a.m. by local time unknown persons from a grenade cup discharge fired at Djindjolia’s house. Then nobody suffered. As Otar Hetsia informed, while the detention Tsurtsumia was armed and resisted to militia employees. Besides the Minister of Internal Affairs specified that Tsurtsumia had terrorized the local population, repeatedly made armed assaults on the citizens.
The chief physician of the Sukhum republican clinical hospital Lion Achba confirmed in his interview to IА REGNUM that three days ago Daniel Tsurtsumia had been taken to the hospital. He was rendered necessary medical assistance but despite of doctors’ efforts he died.
