Within the framework of the Week of Science in the Maykop state technological university the round table «Adygs in the Historical Space and Time» took place. For participation in it the known scientists, public figures, connoisseurs of the Adygeyan history had been invited. The discussion of the historical questions passed in conversation about the prospects of Adygeyan ethnos’ development.
Problems of the political history, ethnogeny, and the sources of Islam in Caucasus were also sounded. The scientists noted that the only consideration of Adygs’ problems in Caucasus would be a way to nowhere. As the overwhelming majority of the people — more than 80 percents — live outside the native land.
«The scale of the tragedy of Adygs’ destiny, as any other people, is defined by comparison of the number living in the native land and the quantity abroad in Diaspora. Adygs had that correlation as one to six. If to consider that we have a three-million Diaspora», — the chief of the history and law faculty of the MSTU, doctor of historical degree professor Svetlana Kudaeva stated.
Ethnographer Mira Unarokova mentioned that Adygs survived in many critical situations. In those cases they were helped by the unique philosophy focused not on the material volumes, and on the all-round development of person. Whether that philosophy could resist to the territorial dissociation and the demographic crisis? The scientists are ready to bring their possible contribution: to work out a scientific concept of the nation’s development, and to make conference annual, it was informed by «VESTI-Adygeya».
